Why Shepherds? - Paul Downie

Back in the day most Shepherds may have been loners and somewhat isolated from the “norms” of society. But they were faithful and were always tending to the wellbeing of their flock. How did these people fit in if they sought to go to the synagogue? Was there a dress code, a mind your language sign or did they need to have a social credit score that would silence those dissenting looks and comments that shunned them to the outer regions?

Join us as Paul addresses some of the social cracks of the church when confronted with todays version of the “Shepherds” who are the loners and somewhat isolated from the “norms” of society out there. What can we do for their needs? Are we really willing to go and do that which is beyond our comfort zone?

“Come and see.”

Hide and Seek Pt1 - Paul Downie

Welcome as we journey into the lives of David, as a young man who nobody noticed; Mephibosheth (Seth) who was a cripple; Ziba, feeling responsible for what had happened; Johnthan, having a great love for people; and Saul, who started out well yet finished badly.

Join us as Paul speaks of four men the Lord called into some life events that in hind sight may cause us to play “hide and seek” in finding the will of The Lord.

You may relate with these events. But how are you handling some of these parallels that you maybe going through right now, and what did these four men do (or didn’t do) when facing these challenges?

Grace Obstacles - Paul Downie

Recorded 20/11/22

Paul Downie has been appointed as “Interim Pastor” as of 20/11/2022. Paul will be with us for the next six months bringing us some great scriptural insights, challenges and experiences.

In this message, Paul draws from the event when Jesus encountered the “Rich Young Ruler” and how it was his wealth that inhibited him from knowing and experiencing Grace. What other obstacals could we have that would hinder us from the fullest potential we could find in His calling of Grace to us?

Being the blueprint church - Doug Whiteford

Doug’s last message to the Hamilton Baptist Church. He held the position as Senior Pastor for four years. He will be missed and we would all like to thank Doug and Julie for the time they have both invested into the church despite the challenges that were faced throughout the global Pandemic. It was clear we weren’t alone. But now, it’s time for rebuilding and to revisit the “Blueprint” we can find in Romans.
